Murtha Stays Tough

Rep John Murtha (D-PA) replies to remarks that Turd Blossom (Karl Rove) made about Murtha, a 37-year Marine combat veteran, not being tough enough to "stay the course". Murtha: He's in New Hampshire. He's making a political speech. He's sitting in his air-conditioned office on his big, fat backside-saying stay the course. That's not a plan! We've got to change direction. You can't sit there in the air-conditioned office and tell troops carrying seventy pounds on their backs, inside these armored vessels-hit with IED's every day-seeing their friends blown up-their buddies blown up-and he says stay the course? Easy to say that from Washington, DC. Murtha wants change, staying the course is not a plan it's a bumper sticker slogan. Like "when they stand up we stand down", that is not a plan! We need leadership that has the guts to stand up to these meatheads that got us into Iraq and head in a direction that gets us out. Think Progress has the clip here.
