"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves, therefore, are its only safe depositories. "
Thomas Jefferson, 1781

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. "
Dwight D. Eisenhower

"How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg?
Four.
Calling a tail a leg doesn't make it a leg."

Am I Defending The Undefendable? Sure

Rumsfeld contends that the American public gives the impression that they cannot stomach a tough fight.
WRONG again Donald, we cannot stomach a incredibly STUPID fight with using his and Bushes moronic policies.

From ABC:
Rumsfeld defends Iraq

When Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld speaks to the convention of Veterans of Foreign Wars tonight he will mount a spirited defense of the War in Iraq as a frontline in the War on Terror. Rumsfeld's comments will echo Vice President Cheney's comments to the same veterans group earlier today.
................
He argues the ongoing debate could give "the enemy the false impression that Americans cannot stomach a tough fight. We must work hard to keep a "Blame America First" mentality from undermining our efforts in another long war against a determined enemy."
These jackasses mistake BLAMING THEM for blaming America.
