Famous Quotes

"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves, therefore, are its only safe depositories. "
Thomas Jefferson, 1781

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. "
Dwight D. Eisenhower

"How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg?
Four.
Calling a tail a leg doesn't make it a leg."
Abraham Lincoln

"See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda."
George W. Bush, May 24, 2005

Cute cartoon.
I was wondering....
If the EU finds that the secret CIA prisons were illegal on their turf, could Bushco be tried for war crimes???
I don't know enough about all that, but seems possible.
I mean, SOMEONE has to prosecute this evil bastard...
The constitution mentions IMPEACHMENT several times and never once mentions DEMOCRACY.

Shelly, the way I understand it, the U.S. has not signed the International Criminal Court Treaty (ICC) and this affects what jurisdiction the ICC has. This was a Bush decision in 2002. They were planning ahead. However, Great Britain has sighed the treaty (I think) and Tony Blair does have something to worry about being so closely aligned with Bush.
