Bush Judges
Bush, in his arrogance, has resubmitted judicial candidates that were previously rejected for federal judges. He refuses to work constructively with Democrats and expects every decision he makes to go unchallenged. Congress confirmed 204 of his nominees and rejected only 20. The Democrats have every right to oppose these judges and they should continue the fight. U.S. Senator Robert C. Byrd, D-W.Va, has been one of the most outspoken on this matter. He has come under criticism for this recently for his "Hilter" remarks. See Robert Byrd: Behind the Times for a rebuttal to this. I do not agree Byrd should have used the analogy because it allows the republicans to change the issue from Bushes poor choice of judges to Byrd's poor choice of words. Even if the point he was trying to make is correct. The Senator had a better choice of words in the Senate on Thrusday remarking on the "nuclear option" to prevent debate on judicial nominees.
