It is time to kick Tom DeLay out

Tom DeLay is the House Majority leader. He has been under investigation for numerous ethics violations and has attempted to have the house rules changed to save his neck. Now this arrogant excuse for a congressman has used the horribly sad situation of Terri Schiavo to muster up support from the religious right wing nuts. From the New Times: DeLay said "One thing that God has brought to us is Terri Schiavo, to help elevate the visibility of what is going on in America," Mr. DeLay told a conference organized by the Family Research Council, a conservative Christian group. A recording of the event was provided by the advocacy organization Americans United for Separation of Church and State. "This is exactly the issue that is going on in America, of attacks against the conservative movement, against me and against many others," Mr. DeLay said. So God brought us Terri to show the world how Tom DeLay is being attacked by the liberals. This sad sack of crap is the leader of the House of Representatives! The Republican leadership needs to stand up and stop pandering to the religious right. They need to kick DeLay out of his leadership position. Christopher Shays, a Republican who voted against the Terri Schiavo bill said, "This Republican Party of Lincoln has become a party of theocracy. There are going to be repercussions from this vote." Mr. DeLay cares so much about peoples right to life that he voted to cut Medicaid by $15 billion. How many people will be denied feeding tubes because they cannot pay for it? So as long as you are wealthy I guess you have a right to life in a George Bush, Tom DeLay, evangelical, right wing world.
